Sweatshop Labor

Sweatshop labor is also known as modern day slavery. The violation of child labor laws and hazardous conditions is what makes these sweatshops such a dangerous and controversial situation for workers. Sweatshops exist in many countries (mainly in third world countries) and produce goods from clothing to furniture. What makes sweatshops such a controversy is the positions of the anti sweatshop protesters and the pro sweatshop defenders. The public tries to pressure companies into eliminating sweatshops. Some companies that face these types of protest are Nike and Wal - Mart. Many people blame corporation leaders and people in favor of survival of the fittest or free enterprise.

In my opinion sweatshop labors should be banned no matter how much it may benefit the lives of people who are in desperate need. With the conditions that employees work in, injury or death is at a high percentage and no one would want to claim that responsibility.
